Moonreich Kingdom. I kinda get what they're trying to go for here but at the same time this almost seems like a movie a dem would make, Fox news is more of a conservative network but they made the guys on the network douche bags to try and portray all guys like that when it comes to the news, Kind of interesting movie but not sure if I'd actually see it due to it's possible subtle insertion of democratic policies.

Now, this is how a trailer should be made - for an audience wanting to know more. (I hope I did the "flair" correctly) I am really new to Reddit, and this is my first actual post, so I apologize if I’ve done anything wrong. I’m not sure if this will even belong here, especially after reading some of the heart-wrenching stories here, but I’m going to start here. I have argued with myself about writing this for a couple of hours now, so I hope the internet doesn’t make me regret this decision. I’ve never sought counseling/therapy for any of this because, honestly, I’m afraid of the emotional/psychological loops/hurdles of dealing with a therapist. However, I have gained a lot of clarity about what has happened (in my life), and am able to process it myself and try to soundly work it over to become a better, more whole person. I think I should thank my children for that, because I see in them everything I ever hope to be, and everything I can be for them. I have my parents to thank for that. To make a long story short (I could honestly probably write another five pages on the beginning alone), my mother passed away in 1998, when I was 8 years old (I’m 26 now). There’s been speculation around her death, but nothing conclusive, and I know very little about it. My dad insists that she was murdered, while others (aunts, uncles, step-mother speculated that she killed herself. I don’t know the actual cause of death, but I intend to try figuring out if there is some way I can look into her medical records and anything else I can find, as well as records of myself. In any case, she was mentally disturbed, and while still living, lost custody of myself and my younger sister and brother (my parents were divorced at this point). My father fought the courts and received custody of us after some time of being in foster care (another messed up time). We moved a couple of times in a couple of years and seemed to be settling in as a family; he actively dated women during this time. The summer before 7th grade began, my dad introduced us to a woman and her two children and said that they were dating. This period of time is kind of all smushed together in my memory, because it got so crazy so fast. She had two children, each two and four years older than me, respectively; one girl (the younger), and one boy (the older). She and my father had met online, that much atleast, my father had mentioned (probably without even thinking about it) to me right before meeting her. Literally before I knew it, we were bringing car loads of stuff to her house when we came to visit, which was becoming an every weekend thing. I remember asking my dad if Angie knew we were moving in, and he laughed and said yes. THIS TURNED OUT TO BE A LIE! It seriously just flabbergasts me to this day, that we moved in to this woman’s house and it all just…happened. Things STEADILY tumbled downhill. I remember one night sitting between her couch and end table with scissors to my throat, sobbing, because dad was upset that Angie no longer wanted to marry him, and everyone was mad and yelling and I had no idea why. That was the start. That summer progressed, and my dad and Angie made up and got married, and my little sister, brother and I tried to get along with our new siblings.. My brother and Angie’s son hit it off pretty well, both being guys; but Angie’s daughter was a little different. I felt awkward around her, and she kind of ‘played the field’ with my sister and I, so to speak. Whoever was of most use to her that day was the one she wanted to be with. We all started going to the pool together and at first it was a lot of fun. Then something happened, I’m not quite sure what (I was really REALLY naive and trusting back then. I didn’t seem to pick up on the issues that were happening behind the scenes), but it involved Angie and her daughter, Sam. The result of whatever this conflict was, (this is going to sound so stupid, I apologize. But, I think about these little things and realize how screwed everything really was) that we girls were not allowed to wear tankinis, bikinis, or anything other than a one piece. I remember this as the start of my criticism toward Angie, because I was turning 13, had just begun flirting with boys, and she picked out the most hideous one-piece thing she could find. It had a padded bra, was too large, half purple and half zebra-print. I protested this thing vehemently, but that only seemed to encourage her. She told me it made my boobs look bigger, that modesty was a virtue, (despite the boob comment??? ) and this and that and the other thing, seeming to take some tiny pleasure out of my tears and embarrassment. We girls took to hiding our cute suits in bags and changing once we got to the pool to alleviate this problem; until one day, Angie pulled up and yelled at us through the fence to get in the vehicle. She told us we weren’t allowed to go to the pool the rest of the summer, and laughed about her ‘network of parents’ that kept her informed of everything we did. One of her friends had agreed to drive up to the pool to spy on us, and had ratted us out to Angie. More began happening; Sam ‘wanted’ me to hang out with her and her friend, and they caused a lot of trouble that I wound up taking blame for as well. At the time, I just wanted to fit in with my new sister and brother and mother, since I had never really had a mother before, and because I wanted my dad to be happy-I thought that because he married this woman and we all lived together that he wanted it and was happy. So, I went along with things I shouldn’t have, and I didn’t question anything. Angie made sure to let my little sister, brother, and I know constantly how lucky we were that our dad fought for custody of us, and how we were spared what could have been with our mother, or in the system. She constantly reminded us that we should thank him, and feel thankful for everything he’d done for us. Then she began recanting ‘tales’ of her childhood. Rapes, molestations, abuse. Everyone and everything in the whole world, it seemed like, had raped, molested, and abused her. I took these at face value for a long time. But then things got worse. I really REALLY hate recounting my tale, because to an outsider it seems like some stupid, spoiled bullshit. One time, early on in our new family relationships, my brother and my dad had an argument. Over what, I have no idea, but my father reached out and slapped him. We had had a belt taken to our butts a couple of times when it was just us and our dad, but he had never ever hit us in the face or anywhere else before. My brother (who is like four years younger than me), burst in to tears and ran off into the backyard. I screamed at my dad to not hit him ever again, and he yelled at me to back off, but I couldn’t. I’ve always felt like the protector to my siblings, even to this day as they are adults. To see my dad smack him was unacceptable to me, and I was willing to face anything to protect my brother. I ran outside and comforted him, and soon enough, things settled back down. Shortly thereafter, during the school year, Angie had a mishap at work, where she worked as an RN at a nursing home. (I’m sorry to say this, but because of her, I hate hearing people say “I know such and such about such and such. You need to do this. TRUST ME, I’m a NURSE. ” [I know not all nurses are like this] One time, she brought home needles from the nursing home and said they were flu shots, and that she was just going to administer them at home. I HATE needles, and did NOT want this shot. She forcibly restrained me and stabbed the needle into my arm and injected me. [I was a 100-120 pound something pre-teen. She was atleast 200 + and I was worried about the repercussions of fighting her back. Excuses, I know, but, at the time I didn’t think for myself I guess. ] My arm was bruised and painful for a week afterward, and all she could say was that I shouldn’t have tensed my muscles and it wouldn’t hurt so bad. ) Angie gets hurt somehow and has to take leave from work, which leads to disability, which leads to a supposed diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. To their credit, they both sat us all down and tried to explain it in a reasonable way, and explain the changes that were going to happen because of it. She was going to need surgeries and would be home a lot more. All this happened, and things continued on. A little more back-story real quick. When my little siblings and I were just with our dad, we begged and begged and begged for EVER to have a dog. Dad finally got us a dog. Three, actually, all from the same litter. We had our pups for a few months when he met Angie and somehow, miraculously, they all ‘disappeared’ during our move to Angie’s. I brought my cat, luckily, but Angie told me that she was allergic to cats, and had to send mine to a farm. (Although Angie had a cat of her own). Her son also had a dog, a weimeraner, and that dog was supposedly poisoned by a bitter neighbor and died, shortly after we all moved in together. Angie had a shitzu, that remained untouched and lived with us for another couple of years before having a heart-attack, or some such. And then the cat supposedly had a heart attack (or something equally insane sounding), and died as well. Both of these incidences happened while Angie was the only one home. She supposedly cleaned up all the blood and mess and buried the bodies (disabled, and gimping, at that) while we were all at school. But, then Angie wants another pet, and so they go to a breeder or a puppy mill or some crap somewhere, and wind up buying two puppies. A cocker spaniel, and another shitzu. The shitzu was born with a messed up foot, and had to have an extra toe amputated. Angie adored him. BUT. We weren’t allowed to have anything to do with them. (I grew up with an INSANE passion for dogs. I wanted dogs, I wanted to be a dog, I read dog breed books and training books and anything having to do with dogs, cover to cover. Dogs were my LIFE. ) (Angie also made me stop watching Animal Planet and told me I couldn’t be a veterinarian after she caught me crying softly to an episode of one of the vet shows, where they had to put an animal down after severe abuse. ) We weren’t allowed to pet them, train them, walk them, brush them, feed them, or anything. We WERE allowed to muck up shit in the backyard, where the pups spent a lot of their time because neither of my parents took the time to properly potty train them or walk them. So, since we couldn’t have anything to do with Angie’s new pets, or really share in the excitement of having a pet, we children moved on. Went to the park, tried to make friends, tried to live. Then we weren’t allowed to go to the park alone anymore. (I think these things center around Angie’s daughter Sam’s behavior, and possibly her son’s behavior, but they were all so sly about their bullshit that I still don’t know the truth. I don’t talk to either of her children anymore. My siblings and I were just backsplash, now that I think about it) We had to ask permission, and often, it was a “no”. Then we weren’t allowed to play in the street (We lived in a tiny cow-town and our street got the occasional 10 mile an hour golf cart from the fancy golf club down the street. ) Then we couldn’t play in the alley. But we didn’t want to go to the backyard because it was full of dog poop, and every time we tried to play catch or whatever, we stepped in it! So, then we had to ask permission to go to the backyard. Then she took our computers. (My dad is a total nerd, and built/repaired computers for a company and built me one of my own. Her children also had their own computers) This whole time, my dad is just fading in to the background, letting her do whatever. (As an adult, able to look back on things more clearly and rationally, I realize that all the women my dad has been with have been abusive/manipulative. ) As Angie’s illness slowly progressed, she needed more medication. Patches, pills, etc. Her stories got bigger, her rules got stricter. I wasn’t allowed to date, and the one person Angie thought would be a good match for me, was someone she admitted had severe mental illnesses due to his mother molesting him. I did not date him, needless to say. The one time I was allowed to go to the dentist, the dentist told me that I would NEED braces, or suffer severe consequences as an adult. My teeth are obnoxiously crooked. They aren’t rotted, or gross or anything, just really really crooked. I have two teeth growing on top of other teeth, and look like a deformed beaver. I relayed this message, and although my step-sister had braces and was finishing out that process, they told me that they could not afford braces. Despite all my arguments for getting braces, they still told me no, and that I should just accept myself the way I am. And that I’m ‘just so pretty when I smile’. I don’t know how to smile. Not really. (I have never been able to save up the money to get the major work needed to fix them. I now grind my teeth in my sleep because they are so crooked that my jaw wont quit trying to ‘settle them straight’. I live every day with shards of molars in my jaw because of this. ) BUT THEN, as time progressed, angie and my dad bought all sorts of extravagant stuff. They got a new car almost every year, trading each one in for a newer, more expensive one. Then they got this mega huge couch, but we weren’t allowed to sit on it. They got a mega huge TV, but we weren’t allowed to watch it. They got themselves a new tempurpedic type bed, and a television, and renovated their bedroom, and their ‘rumpus room’ in the basement. When I was a sophomore in highschool, our school started integrating laptops to all the students, to use at school and at home. We weren’t allowed to take ours home. Angie said she didn’t want the liability if we broke them. All this stuff made me upset, but I tried to rationalize what they/she said. Then I finally took an art class, and the teacher and I hit it off relatively well. I turned out pretty decent photography on the days we used the in-class camera, and my teacher wanted me to participate in our local art show. Mrs. F let me borrow one of the school cameras to use over the weekend, and I was super psyched. Nobody had ever really expressed an interest or like in any of my artwork. Angie was pissed, though, and took the camera from me, until school came back on Monday, and told me I was not allowed to borrow the school cameras because I’d probably break them. F snuck me a camera anyway, after I explained. I do not know if she knew/understood what was going on, but I really appreciated her breaking ‘the rule’ to help me. I will never forget her as a teacher. Miraculously, my little sister and I were able to leave the house during that week, where I took some shots of her and presented them to my teacher. We took these photos to the art exhibit, where I won gold on two of my shots. Angie didn’t seem to put two and two together with the photos, and since the art exhibit took place during school hours and it was a ‘field trip’, I was allowed to attend; she did, however, immediately take my medals away. I was NOT to pursue art, or anything I actually enjoyed, because it ‘wouldn’t pay well’. She told me I should just be a CNA. (Something I’ve never done and will never do because of her) Sometime during my sophomore year, my step-brother had a huge blow up with her and left the house for good. Then she instigated a 24/72 hour rule for us. If we wanted to go outside, to the park, with a friend, or whatever, we had to ask 24 hours in advance. If we wanted to spend the night, we had to get at least 72 hours of notice in there. Needless to say, I only ever slept over at one persons house one time, and only ever had one person sleep at my house one time. It didn’t help that that person was my then girlfriend, and for some stupid reason, I revealed this to Angie, who told me I WAS NOT gay, that I was ruining my girlfriend’s life, and that her parents were going to beat her if they found out we were dating. (They weren’t. ) [I’m also not gay, but explaining bisexuality to anyone is, atleast in my experience, has been an arduous task. ] When I had started to enter highschool (and my two years in middle school in Angie’s town), I was trying really hard to fit in because I’d never been in one spot long enough to make friends. Angie dressed me in the weirdest, goofiest, clothes she could find, and clucked at me for not liking them. Finally, when I was 14, she told me to get a job. And buy the clothes that I wanted. Which was a fucking god send. I got a job immediately (as a child I had mowed lawns, babysat, checked on peoples pets for them, etc. and this was my first corporate job) and loved the freedom it gave me. The pay, however, was another story. I worked very near full time every week after school and on weekends. There were some nights at closing that I didn’t get home until 11 or so. My paychecks were sweet, but I was only allowed to have $40 of it, if I had been good. BUT, I wasn’t allowed to buy food with my money, or gifts (because it’d ruin Christmas for her), and she didn’t let me wear the clothes I had bought because they were not modest enough. (They were BELLBOTTOMS!! And hot topic shirts! ) I was allowed to buy a car, and had to pay for all the insurance and all that good stuff, which I didn’t care about because I had a car that was all mine. I did all the repairs on it, dumped a fuck ton of money in to it (89 pontiac Bonneville. I loved that car because we had the same birth year and it was a big, metal beast). But, I was only allowed to drive it certain places, and eventually not at all. (Of course. ) Food was a big issue in our house. Like I said, I wasn’t allowed to buy food. And I wasn’t allowed to eat food at work. I was supposed to come home and eat the cold crap sitting in the microwave. (This was expected of everyone. ) angie liked to periodically make us eat crap like a hambone/beans in water with no salt, no nothing, because ‘that was what she had to live on and feed her siblings’ while she was raising them and being raped/molsted/abused/abducted/blah blah blah for a million years. (I’m sorry for the cynicism. ) We were not allowed to eat except at designated meal-times. We were only allowed to eat what she cooked. We could not have seconds. We could not have snack. I remember one time my sister and I were really hungry, so we were super stealthy and quickly toasted up a piece of bread and buttered it and sprinkled cinnamon sugar on it, and snuck back to my room to eat it. We were so giddy at our bad behaviour that we started giggling as we tried to take a bite and inhaled the sugar and started choking. We can laugh about it now. Another time, I was really hungry and so snuck a jar of peanut butter home and was sitting there in my room nomming it, when Angie bust in through the door. I hurled the peanut butter to the floor and sat on top of it while she panicked and demanded to know what I was hiding. I was in tears, freaking out, and told her I was working on a mother’s day present. She calmed down and left me after that. I panicked though, because I now had to come up with something for her for mother’s day. (I wound up painting a picture of her as an angel, because she loved angels. She had them everywhere. They were creepy. ) Steadily, Angie and her daughter’s relationship degraded. I faded between being on Sam’s side, and being on Angie’s side. I didn’t feel that either of them were right, but I didn’t understand what was wrong, either. One day, Sam did something and Angie wound up ‘beating’ her. And by beating, I mean, she grabbed Sam’s hair and shoved her on the bed before losing her footing and kind of falling on top of Sam while smacking her with her gimpy arm. (She was losing feeling in her arms and legs due to the “MS” and “botched surgeries”) I screamed and picked up the phone to call my dad, thought better of it, and set the phone back down on the receiver. Angie was a firm believer in ‘what goes on in this house, stays in this house’, so I feared the repercussions of calling for help, if it wasn’t really ‘that big of a deal’. This all happened before school, and in the middle of the school day, Sam comes to me and tells me that she’s talked to a social worker, and that it was my turn. She had scratched her arms all up during her interview. I went in and was surprisingly calm…. I told them I thought Sam was being overdramatic, and that she had been making faces and being obnoxious to angie. I told them I don’t agree with everything that goes on in my house, but that there are a lot of people out there that have it worse. They commended me for ebing so ‘mature’. Nothing happened for a long time, until one day upon coming home from school, there was a black SUV parked outside. My stomach lurched. It was a social worker………. I knew things were going to get bad. The social worker we had talked to at school was sitting inside talking to Angie and my dad. They were all having a jolly good conversation and getting along. The social worker left seeming to think things were okay, but recommending a family care plan for a little while. We had two women come out periodically to talk to us, but Sam was really the only one who disclosed anything. The woman that I and my little sister talked to was really kind and understanding and patient, but I just couldn’t bring myself to tell her the truth. Then, Angie started saying that she had had a lesbian affair (?! ) with the other social worker a long time ago, and that it was a conflict of interest, and eventually our case managed to peter out, leaving us alone to deal with our crap again. Sam called the police once on Angie, and again our parents sweet talked them. Sam eventually moved out with a foster family (a teacher at the school who she had convinced to let stay with them), and it was just my little siblings and I. I may mention that I hate Sam. I hate her with everything that I am. She is as cruel, calculating and manipulative as her mother was. She often made mention of her and her mothers bodies (they had large breasts) and offhandedly made me feel like I was not pretty because I didn’t have the same…’assets’. (ETA: they often teased me if I wanted to do my hair or makeup)I was constantly a third wheel while Sam went out with her friend and I and guys, and played like she was this high stakes virgin princess. During the period of time that it was just us three kids, the duty of asking for things would fall to me. I would play the mind games required to convince Angie to let us leave for a little while, or go outside. My brother was able to join sports and spent a lot of his time that way, my sister had Scholar’s Bowl and other stuff, and I just kind of ran recon around the house when I wasn’t working. I remember one time I was having terrible period cramps, and my dad said something really fucked up to me. He asked me if I was having a miscarriage. I wanted to die when he asked that, because I had previously (in a mental ploy to get on Angie’s ‘good side’) confided that I was sexually active and wanted to get on birth control; but I was really safe about having sex, and Angie had told me that I could tell her anything and she wouldn’t judge. (LIE) I used to think my dad was a super man, and to hear him be so cruel was heartbreaking. During ALL OF THIS, Angie’s little shitzu (Billy was his name. The dogs names were Jon-Boy and Bill-Bob) died. Somehow. Again, it was while everyone but her was gone. The cocker still lives today, but he is mutilated (supposedly from a random kid shooting a BB gun) and mangy, despite my numerous attempts at offering to help with him. So she gets another dog. A poodle from the shelter named Suzi. Again, suzi winds up perishing. While everyone is gone but Angie. Then, she gets another dog, same thing, and another dog. SAME THING. This is over the course of years. She went through about a dog a year. (I can’t believe I didn’t do/say something sooner about this, but honestly, I. ’t know, ) When I was an adult and had a child of my own, and a dog, I stupidly let Angie watch my child and dog when I had to go work last minute. She called me at work in tears and I was FLIPPING, thinking something had happened to my daughter. Angie kept stuttering and wailing and saying I was going to hate her. I yelled at her to spit it out, and she told me that MY DOG had supposedly eaten a tulip bulb or something, choked, and died. Supposedly, Angie took her to the vet and the vet did tests and blah blah blah, and Angie said she would pay for it. (LIES) I was honestly just relieved that nothing had happened to my child. (PLEASE, please don’t tell me how stupid it was to let her watch my child. My heart races now when I think about it and how stupid it was. ) Another time as an adult, I had run out of gas on my way to a really important, HUGE job interview, and I called Angie. (The only person I knew to call) She laughed at my situation, and I got mad and hung up. She came, I thought, to maybe help me get some gas [my van shit out two feet too far from the pump] but instead made me get in the van where she took me home and I completely missed my interview and the chance at a good paying job with the company. ((Sorry, I kind of jumped around there, but I’m trying to just get it out before I lose my nerve and delete everything I’ve written)) During this time I had taken to cutting myself. Although, I hesitate to call it cutting, because it wasn’t really deliberate. It was more like slashing, because I would just slash against my wrists and shins to distract myself from my anger at everything going on. It was a quiet way to relieve tension, because if I got too loud or too angry in a noticeable way, I was in even more trouble. One time, I slashed myself so badly that the wound would not stop bleeding for like three days. I was too afraid to tell anyone, so I fashioned a tourniquet and wore it around under my jeans until the third day or so when I thought ‘maybe I should tell someone before I lose more blood’…. I did…angie wouldn’t take me to the hospital, she just put steri-strips on it and let it heal. I still have a huge scar where that happened. But, afterward, Angie would parade my sister and I around in the living room in just our underwear, to check for fresh cuts. (My baby sister had taken to cutting as well) It was humiliating. (ETA: it has taken me years to be able to sleep in past 630-700am, and if I hear the sound of dishes/silverware clanking I can't go back to sleep. Angie used to get up very early and clang things around loudly or stomp up and down the stairs. When asked what was wrong she would growl that it was nothing or that we should know. ) After this, Sam re-appeared in my life and essentially started ‘grooming’ me at work. She’d come in and chit chat with me, let me lament to her about everything going on at home. She started encouraging me to leave, and told me that I could stay with her. My 17th birthday rolled around and I was outside picking weeds as a punishment for something, when I noticed that one of the vehicles parked out back’s doors were open and wires were stringing out of it. (The vehicle was my step-brothers, who had parked it there during his deployment. He and my parents had a very tepid relationship, which added to the confusion after everything) They accused my boyfriend (who I wasn’t supposed to be seeing) of having done it (no proof. At all. He had never even been to my house) and I got mad. I snuck stuff out to my car throughout the afternoon and when I went to work that night I called my step-sister and told her I was running away. After work, I went to the police station and just flat out told them I wasn’t going home. I told them that it wasn’t horrible, but that my parents and I don’t see eye-to-eye and I can’t go back. They called my parents who told them to keep me. JIA came in an interviewed me, and by SHEER DIVINE LUCK, I was placed with my step-sister. They wanted me put in Juvey, but there wasn’t enough space, and my case wasn’t an emergency. It was pure luck that I went home with Sam that night. (That night I laid on her couch and sobbed myself to sleep because I had made a terrible mistake. I thought about getting up and walking the few blocks back home because I felt like a wretched fool for leaving my dad and siblings behind over something so stupid. I had a dream that the blankets had tentacles and were trying to smother me. I physically wrestled with the tentacles and when I awoke the next morning I had actually moved the blanket across the room. ) Things quickly spiraled out after that. Sam used me to get back at her mom every chance she got; used me for money (I wound up working two jobs to support her and her new baby, who I was expected to be a free babysitter to). Sam eventually had me taken away because I was tired of paying for ultra-expensive cable bills, tired of watching her baby all the time, tired of her regulating/limiting/bossing me around like her mother had. I went to the ‘good’ side of the Juvenile detention center in a city nearby. I caught wind of my siblings and boyfriend, and friends all having issues and couldn’t take being in the center any longer. I planned all night, and the next morning at dressing time, I put on three pairs of underwear and socks, a couple pairs of pants, and a couple pairs of shirts, and claimed I was cold so I could wear my coat. I waited until dinner feeding time, then asked to get a drink of water, took a sip, and bolted out the back door. I made it far, hitchhiked a ride, made it back to my town where I was on the lam for a good week. Eventually, my then boyfriend turned me in and I was arrested. I went to the ‘bad;’ side of the center this time. I was in there for what seemed like an eternity. My parents came down for a visit one time. Then ight before they came I became violently ill……bad. But I went with them anyway because I wanted to be out of the center. I sobbed and begged and pleaded for them to please not take me back. I wanted to come home. I was so sorry, they were right about everything, that I was trash…Everything. I have a lump in my throat thinking about that day right now. I’ve never felt more helpless than when I begged and sobbed and crumpled to my knees in a heap of snot and tears that day, not caring who saw me, not wanting to be cool, not wanting to be grown, not wanting anything but to come home to my fucked up little world. They said they couldn’t. That if I had come home sooner, they could have taken me, but now it was too late. (I later learned that was also a lie. They just didn’t want to jump through the hurdles needed to do so. ) I was finally discharged three months before my 18th birthday, and placed in a foster home. (another messed up time) As an adult, Angie and I still engaged in mental theatrics, ; but as I became a mother myself, I began challenging her. It may sound stupid, but I didn’t feel like an adult, I didn’t realize I WAS an adult and could stand up to her. I never knew true love until I had my children, though. I never knew the physical and mental power you gain as you become a mother. I couldn’t let her evil seep onto my children. Whenever I didn’t play angie’s games I suffered repercussions for it. (such as my dogs death, or the job) Or she wouldn’t show up for her granddaughters birthday, using her illness(ses) as an excuse. As time trickled on Angie claimed to have an extensive list of ‘illnesses’-MS, arthritis, fybromialgia, and others that I couldn’t even begin to repeat took more and more and more pills, lost more and more and more weight. Her stories became incredible. Everything anyone said, she had a story to top it. She ‘had biker friends’ that would ‘visit her at 2-3am’ when nobody else was awake. She was supposedly part of the biker gang, and had names for each of the men. She even, at one point in time, tried to ‘set me up’ with one of the guys. (I was single, and not wanting to date, so of course she pushed harder for me TO date) By the end of it all, all of us children had left the house before 18. Most of us went to foster homes/transition homes, and my little sister went to a psyche ward because she was suicidal, and then went to a girls home. The last time I talked to my step-brother he called to tell me that Angie was dead. I don’t remember the exact date, but I will never forget that day. I was stunned into silence and then started laughing, like, insanely. I asked him if he was joking. He said he wasn’t. I was stunned into silence for awhile longer before he asked me if I was okay. I wasn’t sure how to project myself to him, and turned it around on him. I asked him if he was okay, and we tried to figure out the details. I still don’t know REALLY how he even knew of her death. Supposedly, he heard it from his Aunt, who heard it from our dad. But, when my dad tells it, he says that he never told the Aunt, and then rants about social media spewing everyones personal business everywhere. Dad says the situation went down like this: (He works early) He said goodbye to Angie and kissed her forehead. She was still asleep. He got home and she was still in bed, but he didn’t think too much of it and showered and all that. When he came back to their room he went to her for whatever reason, and realized she was dead. He says he called the police and waited for them to come while he was holding her lifeless body. He said after all that, after they’d taken Angie from the house and finished with him, that a sheriff pulled up telling him to give his children a call because we didn’t know what was going on. (He says he thinks the neighbors spouted the events onto facebook and SOMEHOW these neighbors that we have never met shared it with our aunt and us. It’s…, to say the least, but he wont hear anything else. ) He says that she died of natural causes. I THINK, the situation went down with the only similarities being the start of the incident. I think Angie took a bunch of pills, either as a ruse to get attention and not really wanting to go through with it, or to really go through with it. I think she killed herself. I honestly think my dad knew about it, to some extent, but was so battered that he wasn’t going to actively stop it. I won’t push him further than I have on that, although I have made my thoughts clear. I think he called Angie’s sister and told her first, and that information cascaded to my step-brother, which cascaded to me. THAT’S what I think happened. I didn’t even go to Angie’s funeral. Not by choice, though. I just had nobody to rely on to get me there (I was living 2+ hours away from Angie’s town at this time), and my vehicle was kaput. I’m not saddened that I didn’t go, though, it sounded horrible. Sam was there, and they played Nickleback and Velvet Revolver and other music like that that Angie loved (which makes my ears bleed now). Honestly, when I was told that she was dead, a whole world of weight lifted off me…That sounds bad, but I immediately thought of the munchkins in the movie ‘the Wizard of Oz’, and their glee at the witch being smashed. I thought I would finally get my dad back, and that the evil that had corrupted us for so long would be cleansed. But, Angie’s memory still haunts us faintly. My dad and I had a big falling out shortly after her death, and the realization that my dad was a totally pussy coward throughout that time hit me very hard. We are working on our relationship now, but I am really forthcoming and blunt with him, and have no qualms if he needs to kick rocks. I have four children, of whom I found true love. I realized last year that I hardly smiled at my children. That I hardly smiled at anyone; but smiling at your child and not having them smile back is heartbreaking. I took the time to be a little crazy with my very-understanding husband, and have been processing everything and allowing myself to feel what I need to feel. I have major confidence issues. The charisma I once had is gone. I have few friends (and I should mention that those friends are my children and husband). I have no life. But, I am slowly trying to rebuild those things. It isn’t easy at all. I sincerely hope any of this makes the least bit of sense. I really can write, I promise; but I didn’t want to stop and over-think anything I wrote in case I got cold feet and deleted it. I’ve never shared this this openly before, so it’s literally just word vomit (I left so much out, as well, which is part of the reason for jumping around. This document is already at four pages. ). I appreciate anyone who actually read through all this chaos and I apologize if I am in the totally wrong forum (the traits describe in the side bar fit Angie to a T). ((And I know my sister might be on here, or could be on here eventually. If you think this is about us, it is. [Edited to remove my sisters nickname]])) ((Edited for formatting and a couple additions, marked ETA)).

/ Synopsis: A psychological thriller, INCITEMENT follows the year leading to the assassination of Israel's Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, from the point of view of the assassin. The film details, for the first time, the forces that act upon the assassin, including the religious and political incitement, the personal and the interpersonal turmoil. It is a psychological portrait of a political assassin seeking to kill democracy. It is also a portrait of a torn society on the brink of civil war / Yaron Zilberman / Writed by: Yaron Zilberman / genres: Thriller / Israel.

Incitement to commit an offense is an attempt to persuade another person, by whatever means, to commit an offense. There are many ways of doing this. Both rewards and punishments can provide the incentive to commit crimes. Someone can offer a reward for committing genocide, or they can try to blackmail a person. Incitement can be achieved by threats. A person can also try to get others to commit an offense by the use of argument and rhetoric. "Rabble rousing" is a common method of used to convince large groups of people act to in a particular way. Inflammatory speeches in political rallies have been used to prepare the way for genocide, or to whip crowds into states of frenzy in which killings may easily occur. The drafters of the genocide convention knew this all too well, and therefore included incitement to commit genocide as a listed crime in the 1948 Convention. The Nature of the Crime of Incitement Direct and public incitement to commit genocide is criminalized in Article III(c) of the 1948 Genocide Convention. A provision akin to Article III(c) can be found in the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (Article 25(3)(e)). Incitement is one of a limited group of crimes related to genocide (the others are attempts at genocide and conspiracy to commit genocide) which do not require the commission of one of the genocidal acts set out in Article II of the 1948 Genocide Convention. Incitement, attempt and conspiracy are crimes in themselves. As none of these offenses require an act of genocide to be committed, they are referred to as inchoate (incomplete) crimes. Their incompleteness does not change the fact that they are criminal, as is clear from Article III of the 1948 Convention. However, incitements to commit crimes against humanity or war crimes are not internationally criminal unless they actually lead to the commission of those crimes. The difference between incitement that does not lead to genocide (or is not proved to have done so) and encouragement that does lead to a crime is an important one. In the case of encouragement leading to an offense, the wrong is in participating in the crime of another by encouraging it. When the incitement does not lead to an offense by another person, the wrong is in the attempt to persuade someone else to commit the crime, as there is no other crime to be complicit in. The difference is not one which has always been respected by courts prosecuting people for acts that amount to incitement. This is probably because there is a considerable overlap between incitement to genocide and complicity in genocide. Therefore incitement can have a dual character, both as an inchoate crime, and, where it leads to others committing genocide, as a form of complicity in crimes of those others. The History of Incitement to Genocide The historical background against which Article III(c) of the Genocide Convention was drafted was the trial in the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal of two Nazi propagandists, Julius Streicher and Hans Fritzsche. Streicher was convicted of crimes against humanity by that tribunal, and sentenced to death. Fritzsche was acquitted. Streicher edited the newspaper Der Stürmer. Der Stürmer was, in both the literal and metaphorical sense, obscene. It mixed vicious anti-Semitism with pornography. Streicher was obsessed with the idea that the Jewish population represented a threat to the "purity" of the "Aryan race. " Streicher's fantasies were not the basis of his conviction at Nuremberg, however. Instead, it was charged that his writings "infected the German mind with the virus of anti-Semitism" and also advocated participation in the Holocaust. Before the war he was an ardent anti-Semite. In 1939 he continued his campaign of hatred and advocacy of the Holocaust in a leading article in Der Stürmer, which read: A punitive expedition must come against the Jews in Russia. A punitive expedition which will provide the same fate for them that every criminal and murderer must expect: Death sentence and execution. The Jews in Russia must be killed. They must be exterminated root and branch. The fact that he made such statements when he knew that the Holocaust was being perpetrated was sufficient for the judges at the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal to sentence him to hang. This was not, strictly speaking, for incitement to genocide. It was prosecuted as complicity in crimes against humanity rather than as an inchoate crime of incitement. Streicher's conviction has not gone without criticism. Telford Taylor, chief counsel at the later American trials in Nuremberg, did not condone Streicher's actions, but he nonetheless criticized the judges for having allowed their personal disgust for him to lead them to convict him of participating in crimes against humanity without due regard for determining on what principles he was liable. Streicher could easily have been found guilty of inciting genocide, had the offense existed at the time. Fritzsche was a radio propagandist, best known for his program "Hans Fritzsche speaks, " in which he manifested his anti-Semitism. He escaped conviction before the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal because, despite the anti-Semitic thrust of his radio work, he did not advocate the physical destruction of the European Jews. In the words of the Nuremberg International Military Tribunal, Fritzsche's claims that "the war had been caused by Jews and... their fate had turned out 'as unpleasant as the Führer had predicted'... did not urge persecution or extermination of Jews. " The tribunal determined that Fritzsche's broadcasts constituted propaganda for Hitler and the war, rather than direct incitement to participate in the Holocaust. The distinction between the two may not always be clear. Infamous examples of incitement to genocide occurred in Rwanda, in which mass media, in particular radio, was used to prepare the ground for, then encourage, the genocide against the Tutsi people in 1994. The use of radio was particularly important because a large part of the Rwandan population was illiterate, and therefore earlier attempts to encourage genocide in Rwanda through newspaper editorials failed to reach many people. The most well-known Rwandan radio station was Radio Télévision Libre Mille-Collines (RTLM). This popular station was known for its informal style and comments such as "the graves are half full, who will help us fill them? " during the genocide. Throughout the genocide in 1994, RTLM broadcast dehumanizing propaganda against Tutsis, gave out information about where Tutsis could be found still alive or hiding, and encouraged people to kill them. In the Media trial, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) convicted two of the founders of RTLM, Ferdinand Nahimana and Jean-Bosco Barayagwiza, of incitement to commit genocide in December 2003. They received sentences of life and 35 years imprisonment, respectively. In paragraph 1031 of the judgement, the Trial Chamber described RTLM as "a drumbeat, calling on listeners to take action against the enemy and enemy accomplices, " and in paragraph 486 said that through ethnic stereotyping RTLM promoted hatred and contempt for Tutsis. As an illustration of this stereotyping, and its incitement to violence, the Trial Chamber referred to a broadcast of June 4, 1994, in which the announcer said, "just look at his small nose and then break it, " referring to an ethnic stereotype of Tutsi physical appearance. The activities of RTLM also gave rise to controversies about whether or not such stations should be jammed, or prevented from broadcasting by force. Neither happened to RTLM, but when RTS (Radio-Television Serbia) was bombed in the 1999 Kosovo conflict, some justified the bombing on the basis that it was a propaganda organ for the Milosevic regime. The argument proved very controversial, and most commentators seeking to defend the lawfulness of bombing the RTS incorporated the propaganda claim with the charge that RTS was also part of a military information system. Criminalization of Incitement and the Harm Principle It is a foundational principle of criminal law that for something to be criminalized there must be some form of relationship between that conduct and harm to others. A conviction for incitement to genocide does not require that anybody who hears, reads, or is exposed to the incitement be offended by it. Indeed, in many incidences of direct and public incitement to commit genocide, those who are being subject to the incitement agree with the sentiments that are being passed on. Thus, offensiveness alone cannot be a basis for criminalizing incitement. The justification must be found in the harm it causes. The harm caused by incitement cannot be the harm involved in the actual crime of genocide, however, because the latter crime does not have to be committed for incitement to have occurred. If it did, there would be no appreciable difference between incitement and successful encouragement to commit genocide. Rather, the main type of harm that justifies the criminalization of incitement is that it creates the risk of commission of the final crime of genocide by those incited. Just because the final harm—the actual commission of an act of genocide—has not concretely manifested itself, the criminal law against incitement is not impotent. Subjecting any person (or a group) to an unwarranted risk of harm is, in itself, violating the right of that person or group not to be wrongfully endangered. Although incitement results in a more remote form of harm than that caused by complete acts of genocide, its criminalization is justified on the grounds that it is a form of harm nonetheless. It can be argued that someone who has tried, but failed, to get a person, a crowd, or even a country, to commit genocide is morally indistinguishable from someone who has successfully encouraged genocide. The only difference between success and failure is the actions of other people, who are responsible for their own actions. Therefore, if the criminal law is to be consistent, it should not criminalize successful incitements and ignore unsuccessful ones. Criminalizing incitement to commit genocide allows the criminal law to intervene at an earlier stage than the actual attempts to commit the genocidal acts mentioned in Article II of the Genocide Convention. Genocide is an extremely serious, if not the most serious, international crime. It is better to prevent its commission at an early stage than to delay prosecution until after people have been killed. Genocide is usually a crime committed by a number of people at the instigation of smaller number of ringleaders. It usually takes some time to persuade people to commit genocide, with repeated propaganda against the targeted group. Therefore it is a good idea for the law to seek to bring an end to genocidal plans as soon as they have manifested themselves. It is by no means clear that a similar logic should not apply to other serious offenses, namely crimes against humanity and genocide. Such arguments did not sway the drafters of the Rome Statute, however, so the International Criminal Court has no jurisdiction to prosecute those who directly and publicly, albeit unsuccessfully, incite war crimes or crimes against humanity, but is instead limited to the prosecution of specific incitements to genocide. However, incitement to particular examples of war crimes and crimes against humanity may be as serious as some instances of incitement to genocide. If a sadistic person sought to persuade others to drop a nuclear device on a city which would kill 100, 000 people, for motives of personal pleasure or in order to persecute, rather than eliminate, a group, the act he or she seeks to incite would not meet the formal definition of genocide. Yet the act being encouraged is not much less serious than certain examples of genocide. There is perhaps some justification in the idea that genocide, with its eliminationist mental element, is simply different from other crimes, and should thus be treated differently. The question is whether genocide is sufficiently different from war crimes and crimes against humanity to justify that only incitements to genocide are serious enough to be criminalized. Freedom of Speech and Incitement There is a countervailing interest to the protection of the right of groups to exist that serves to narrow down the scope of the criminal prohibition of incitement. This interest underlies the limitations that the incitement must be "direct" and "public" and that the mental element required is very high. That interest is encapsulated in the right to freedom of speech. Most national human rights documents include a right of free speech. The first amendment to the U. S. Constitution is an example of such a provision. The right is also protected at the international level, most notably in Article 19 of the 1966 International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICTR). The principle of free speech and the desire to prevent racism and genocide pull in different directions. It is not easy to determine precisely where the line between acceptable and unacceptable abridgments of the right of free speech lies. The drafters of the Genocide Convention were mindful of this difficulty. The United States, for example, was uncertain about the need for a provision on incitement in the Genocide Convention. United States delegates involved in the drafting of the Genocide Convention pointed to the possibility of using incitement laws to illegitimately stifle the press. Cold War considerations played a role in this debate, for the Soviet Union was a strong advocate of an expansive incitement provision, and the U. delegation feared that it would use the provision as an excuse to suppress dissent. A majority of states favored retaining some form of incitement provision, however, and thus a compromise led to Article III(c) being included in the convention. It does not unduly infringe the right of free speech to criminalize incitement of serious crimes, as the right of free speech, important as it is, has to be balanced with the rights of others. After recognizing the right of free expression, Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights provides that the right may be limited in certain circumstances, when such limits were necessary to ensure the rights and freedoms of others. Article 20(2) of the International Covenant requires that states must prohibit "any advocacy of national, racial, or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility, or violence. " Direct and public incitement to genocide is incitement to discrimination, hostility, and violence, and thus it must fall under these exceptions to the right of free speech. Therefore, the criminalization of direct and public incitement to genocide does not violate the right of free speech. Incitement to genocide is a narrower concept than racist speech. This makes it very unlikely that a domestic statute criminalizing incitement to genocide along the lines of the Genocide Convention definition could fall foul of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. In the Media trial, the ICTR engaged in a detailed review of the case-law of the various human rights bodies, and accepted that some balancing of the rights of free speech and the right to freedom from discrimination was necessary. This balancing is done in the Genocide Convention by requiring that incitement be both direct and public for it to qualify as a criminal act. It is controversial whether or not laws prohibiting Holocaust denial and other hate speech should be part of the law relating to incitement to genocide. They probably do not qualify. The Genocide Convention was not designed to prohibit all hate speech, but to require the prosecution of those who are directly trying to persuade people to kill others with genocidal intent. Hate speech can be the precursor to incitement to genocide. However, such speech, where not accompanied by more direct encouragement to genocide, may be too remote from the harm of genocide to be appropriately included as an aspect of the international prohibition of genocide. Laws against such speech may be justifiable, but they may be better dealt with outside the context of the "crime of crimes, " genocide. There is a difference between even ugly propaganda and material that is directly aimed at encouraging people to commit genocide. Nonetheless, the line between the two is not always clear. Manfred Lachs, the Polish delegate to the conference that drafted the Genocide Convention and an international lawyer, noted that creating suspicion around groups by implying that they are responsible for various problems creates an atmosphere in which genocide may occur. Conduct Amounting to Incitement Crimes are normally split into two elements: the conduct element (sometimes called actus reus) and the mental element (sometimes called mens rea). Although the two categories are imperfect, they form a useful basis for discussion of incitement. Unfortunately, Article III(c) of the Genocide Convention does not give much detail about what amounts to incitement. For this, we have to look to the way the concept has been interpreted by courts. The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda has been at the forefront of international interpretation of what amounts to the crime of incitement. The tribunal first attempted to set out examples of incitement in the case of Jean Paul Akayesu, a Rwandan bourgmestre (mayor), who was convicted in 1998 of, among other things, incitement to commit genocide. The basis for these charges was that, in his capacity as a bourgmestre, he had led a gathering over a dead Tutsi and urged those with him to eliminate Tutsis. He then read out lists of names of suspected Tutsis and Tutsi sympathizers, knowing that this would lead to the named individuals being killed. His incitement was successful, and he was prosecuted and convicted of incitement, although it might perhaps have been more appropriate to prosecute him for encouragement of the completed crime of genocide. In the case against Akayesu, the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda defined conduct amounting to incitement as follows: speeches, shouting, or threats uttered in a public place or at public gatherings, or through sale or dissemination, offer for sale, or display of written or printed material or printed matter in public places or at public gatherings, or through the public display of placards or posters, or through any other means of audiovisual communication. In the Media case mentioned earlier, the ICTR picked up on the specific risks that audio communication poses when compared to newspapers or posters. In paragraph 1031 of its judgment, the Trial Chamber said: The nature of radio transmission made RTLM particularly dangerous and harmful, as did the breadth of its reach. Unlike print media, radio is immediately present and active. The power of the human voice... adds a quality and dimension beyond words to the message conveyed. The Chamber also rightly noted that radio transmission added a sense of urgency to the calls for genocide in Rwanda. That is not to say that the Chamber completely discounted the danger of the print media. In the Media trial, the editor of the newspaper Kangura was also convicted of incitement to genocide for publishing content that was "a litany of ethnic denigration presenting the Tutsi population as inherently evil and calling for the extermination of the Tutsi as a preventive measure. " The Convention is clear that incitement which is not followed by the commission (by others) of genocidal acts must be public for it to be criminal. Only if incitement in private is consummated with actual acts of genocide is it thought serious enough to be criminal. In this latter case, the criminality arises from complicity in genocide, rather than incitement. In the drafting of the Genocide Convention, some participants proposed that private incitement be included, but these were removed as part of the compromise over the inclusion of the crime of incitement at all. The requirement that incitement must be public is a reflection of the need to balance the criminalization of incitement, which often criminalizes speech, against the right of freedom of speech. In the Akayesu case, the Rwanda Tribunal interpreted the concept of "public" to include two elements: "the place where the incitement occurred and whether or not assistance was selective or limited. " The Rwanda Tribunal's handling of incitement that is accomplished through the use of audiovisual communication raises interesting issues in relation to electronic communication. There may be no reason in principle for differentiating between someone displaying notices in a street and someone posting messages on an open-access internet page if both incite genocide. It may take more time for people to see a message on an internet page than one that is posted on the street, but this should not matter, because liability for incitement does not require that the actual occurrence of genocide. Open access internet pages should therefore be considered a public venue for the purpose of the crime of incitement, although there is no judicial authority on this. E-mail presents a more difficult question. An e-mail to one person would almost certainly not be public, even though it could be read by other people in the same way that a letter sent by the post can be opened by someone other than the addressee. A message inciting genocide sent to a list of recipients, however, presents a more difficult question. If there are numerous subscribers to the list, some may feel that the public requirement is fulfilled. A relevant comparison might be whether a meeting of, for instance, ten people in a village square would be considered public. On the other hand, if the same ten people met in a private house, would this be considered public? If there are 10, 000 or 100, 000 subscribers to the list, the public criterion would almost certainly be met. Similarly, it would be difficult to claim that an incitement sent as a "spam" e-mail to millions of people around the globe was not public. To be prosecuted as criminal, the incitement must also be direct. Vague suggestions or hints are not enough. One reason for this limitation is the need to strike a balance between criminalizing incitement and preserving freedom of speech. Another is to reduce the possibility that frivolous claims arising from misinterpretation might be made against those speaking or writing. Such misinterpretations are not unknown. Charles Manson drew inspiration for his (nongenocidal) killings from the song "Helter Skelter" on the Beatles's White Album. The directness problem was understood by the Rwanda Tribunal in Akayesu, which said: The direct element of incitement implies that the incitement assume a direct form and specifically provoke another to engage in a criminal act, and that more than mere vague or indirect suggestion goes to constitute direct incitement. However, what is or is not direct is a matter of interpretation, and where the line is drawn is thus unclear, as the Trial Chamber in Akayesu continued "incitement may be direct and nonetheless implicit. " Matters are made even more complex by the fact that at different times and places, and in different cultural or linguistic contexts, words take on different implications and meanings. For example, it has become known that the word Endlösung (final solution), when it appeared in Nazi documents, referred to the Holocaust, and that the word Sonderbehandlung (special treatment) meant killing. This was not immediately apparent, however. At least two aspects of the problem of determining directness are worthy of mention. First, in wartime, when many, although not all genocides occur, language mutates very quickly, and in particular, euphemisms frequently gain currency. Many of those euphemisms refer to acts or groups involved the genocide. For example, in Rwanda, Inyenzi, which literally translates as "cockroach, " was used to refer to Tutsis by proponents of genocide. Second, directness differs with place, language, and culture. The Rwanda Tribunal understood this, averring in its Akayesu decision that "a particular speech may be perceived as 'direct' in one country, and not in another. " Some languages and cultures are more circuitous than others in modes of expression. In addition, the determination of incitement often relies on translated texts of suspect speeches or written articles, and translation itself adds a degree of ambiguity to the possible meanings of the words being used. These considerations raise difficulties when the people making decisions on guilt or innocence regarding the crime of incitement are from a different cultural or linguistic background to the person being judged. In this instance, the only way to ensure that decisions on incitement are fair is to get expert cultural and linguistic evidence. This occurred in Canada, in the case of Mugesera v. Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. Leon Mugesera was an academic who became an official in the Rwandan government. In 1992 he made a speech that many believed to have incited the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. He was set to be deported from Canada on the grounds that he had incited genocide in that 1992 speech, but filed an appeal. The Canadian Federal Court of Appeal secured a new translation of Mugesera's 1992 speech, and reversed the original deportation order. The court's strongly worded opinion declared that the initial translation and editing of the speech transcript was seriously misleading. To show this, the Court juxtaposed the version of part of the speech used in proceedings against Mugesera in 1996 and 1998, and the one they had before them in 2003. The first version read: The fatal mistake we made in 1959... was that we let them [the Tutsis] leave [the country]. [Their home] was in Ethiopia, but we are going to find them a shortcut, namely the Nyabarongo river. I would like to emphasize this point. We must react! The second version read: Recently I made these comments to someone who was not ashamed to disclose that he had joined the PL. I told him that the fatal mistake we made in '59, when I was still a boy, was that we let them leave. I asked him if he knew of the Falachas, who had gone back to their home in Israel from Ethiopia, their country of refuge. He told me he did not know about that affair. I replied that he did not know how to listen or read. I went on to explain that his home was in Ethiopia but we were going to find him a shortcut, namely the Nyabarongo River. We must react! The first version omitted parts of the speech that contextualized the statement that the river would be used as a shortcut to return refugees. This implied a stronger link to the later genocide, in which bodies were often thrown into rivers, and suggested that Mugesera was referring to the idea, common in the genocide, that the Tutsis were Ethiopian newcomers to Rwanda. The second translation is considerably less clear on this point. This is not to say that Mugesera's speech could not be interpreted as incitement (many people have interpreted it as such), but the differences in the two translations demonstrate that when euphemistic speech is used, it is not always simple to arrive at a firm understanding of the intended meaning. These difficulties must not be overstated, however. Sometimes the meaning of a statement is easily determinable. The tone of voice used in the delivery of speeches or transmissions, as well as the context in which the words are used and the reaction of the people who heard them are all relevant clues to meaning. For example, Eliezer Niyitigeka was convicted of incitement to genocide by the Rwanda Tribunal for telling people to "go to work, " because it was clear in context that this meant killing Tutsis and was that it was understood as such at the time. RTLM was used during the Rwandan genocide to whip up hatred against Tutsis and tell people where Tutsis could be found and killed. Defendants have tried to take advantage of interpretative difficulties by deconstructing relatively innocuous messages from clear material. In the Media trial, Hassan Ngeze attempted to argue that a picture of a machete that appeared on the front page of Kangura to the left of the question "what weapons shall we use to conquer the Inyenzi once and for all? " only represented one alternative. He claimed that another option, democracy, was represented by a photograph of Grégoire Kayibanda, the former president of Rwanda. The Trial Chamber had little problem responding to this argument, noting "that the answer was intended to be the machete is clear both textually and visually". Mental Element The other indispensable part of the crime of incitement is the mental element, which is equally fundamental to the definition of genocide. In the Akayesu case, the Trial Chamber defined the mental element as follows: [The mental element] lies in the intent to directly prompt or provoke another to commit genocide. It implies a desire on the part of the perpetrator to create by his actions a particular state of mind necessary to commit such a crime in the minds of the person(s) he is so engaging. That is to say that the person who is inciting to commit genocide must have himself the specific intent to commit genocide, namely to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group, as such. Not only must the person intend to persuade others to commit genocide, but he or she must also want the national, ethnical, racial, or religious group to be, at least in part, destroyed. The necessity of finding both these elements remains a subject of debate. Some believe that knowingly persuading another to perpetrate genocide should be enough to qualify an individual for a charge of incitement, even if the inciter does not personally wish to destroy, in whole or in part, the group against whom the genocide is committed. The offense of incitement was included in the Genocide Convention in order to prevent acts of genocide before they occurred. Prevention by the timely application of criminal sanctions to those attempting to bring genocide about is preferable to international criminal law only entering the picture when genocide is occurring, when it is already too late. It is arguable, however, that the offense of incitement is too narrowly defined to achieve its intended purpose. There have been reflexive attempts to associate some recent mass shooters with the right-wing politics of incitement. The Prime Minister of Israel has been known to angrily decry anti-Israel incitement among Palestinians, and he is right to do so. What, then, are we to make of two stories of incitement that came out of Israel just this week? But others see the call by Al Sissi as incitement to more trouble and instability. But, passing from that incitement, Paul rests his plea on deeper grounds. A religious faith is therefore the most powerful of all restraints from evil and incitement to good. Our mother is dead indeed, but then what befell her might be an instruction to us to caution, and not an incitement to wickedness. Whereas the possession of Mrs. Schomberg was no incitement to a display of manly virtues. He valued the old nobility and the new, not as an excuse for inglorious sloth, but as an incitement to virtuous activity.

Really well done. The story is compelling and the acting is seamless and fantastic especially the lead actor. I was also impressed by the editing. They used real footage of real events and combined them into the new footage is a seamless and a very skilled fashion, impressive.

This film is a re-creation of the life of Yigal Amir, the assassin of Yitzhak Rabin, from the time of the announcement of the 1st Oslo peace accord, to the actual deed. While Yigal was already a nationalist (he starts by being arrested at an anti-Oslo rally) various forces encouraged or abetted him towards assassination.
There is his mother, encouraging him to greatness, as per his name. There are rabbis who proclaim that Jewish law should supercede secular law, and also that Rabin is a "Persuer" and an "Informer" permitting him to be killed. There is a Likud / Bibi rally, where calls to kill Rabin go unchecked. There are girlfriends / potential brides, who just distance themselves from him but not report his thoughts to authorities. About the only person who comes off well is his father, who said that, if Rabin should be struck down, it should be by the hand of God and not of man.
I was at the world premiere (see: trivia) where the director said the film project was started 5 years ago, and it is just coincidental that it is coming out as populists hold hate-filled rallies.

Why is these woman helping those illigal inmigrantes and not speaking about the problems they cause for the Israelis. Rabin wasn't a good person, as a Israelian. I don't want to talk about it. It's pretty hard to understand. The left became more left in recent times while conservatives stayed pretty much the same. It becomes obvious then where the divide in America came from. When the liberals return closer to the center is when progress and stability will return. If they stay where they are it will mean nothing but trouble from here on out. DT 2020.

But Malang has fantastic production values, is mounted on a grand scale, and has a few twists and turns that keeps the interest intact until the end.
Malang is a kill fest swinging between two Christmas eves, 5 years apart. Advait Thakur (Aditya Roy Kapoor) emerges from the jail after a 5 year rigorous imprisonment, having transformed into a murder machine. He announces his intention to Anjaney Agashe (Anil Kapoor, a crime branch cop) who has the reputation for encounter killings himself. Apparently unrelated, four policemen are murdered and then Advait surrenders. But the Goa police isn't going to take this lying low - revenge must be in order.
Malang could have been a gripping thriller if only the bond between the lead actors (Aditya Roy Kapoor and Disha Patani) were more cogent. The romance is no strings attached initially and aborts suddenly as Advait develops cold feet. His return to sanity is unimpressive and unconvincing. The crime committed 5 years back, which is the crux of the story also stands on feeble grounds. The story in spite of the suspense and the novel climax fails to inspire any association with the characters or sympathy as they aren't defined in depth. The music by Prashant Pillai is outstanding and cinematography by Vikas Sivaraman is commendable. An average revenge drama.

The term free body is usually associated with the motion of a free body diagram, a pictorial device used by physicists and engineers. In that context, a body is said to be "free" when it is singled out from other bodies for the purposes of dynamic or static analysis. The object does not have to be "free" in the sense of being unforced, and it may or may not be in a state of equilibrium; rather, it is not fixed in place and is thus "free" to move in response to forces and torques it may experience. Figure 1: The red cylinder is the "free" body, the body of interest. Figure 2: Now the left half of the cylinder is the "free" body. Example [ edit] Figure 1 shows, on the left, green, red, and blue widgets stacked on top of each other, and for some reason the red cylinder happens to be the body of interest. (It may be necessary to calculate the stress to which it is subjected, for example. ) On the right, the red cylinder has become the free body. In figure 2, the interest has shifted to just the left half of the red cylinder and so now it is the free body on the right. The example illustrates the context sensitivity of the term "free body". A cylinder can be part of a free body, it can be a free body by itself, and, as it is composed of parts, any of those parts may be a free body in itself. Note that figure 1 and 2 are not yet free body diagrams. In a completed free body diagram, the free body would be shown with forces acting on it. [1] Freely falling body [ edit] A free body should also be distinguished from a freely falling body. In Newtonian physics, the latter term refers to a body which is falling under pure gravity with all other forces being zero. [2] In Einstein's general theory of relativity, where gravity becomes curvature of spacetime, a freely falling body is subject to no forces whatsoever and is a body moving along a geodesic. [3] A free body in the context of this article may not be following a geodesic and may be subject to all sorts of forces, gravitational and other. Buttyfull sir I love this song's. Free The bodyboard. Free radical formation in the body. What are Free Body Diagrams? One of the most useful aids for solving a statics problem is the free body diagram (FBD). A free body diagram is a graphic, dematerialized, symbolic representation of the body (structure, element or segment of an element) in which all connecting "pieces" have been removed. A FBD is a convenient method to model the structure, structural element, or segment that is under scrutiny. It is a way in which to conceptualize the structure, and its composite elements, so that an analysis may be initialized. All of the physical attrributes of the structure are removed. This is not completed at random, rather with a distinct method. A body, or segment thereof, is represented by a simple single line. Each connection is solely represented by a juncture with distinct properties, or is replaced by a set of forces and moments which would represent the action at that connection. Internal forces which would be found at a node (connection or joint) can be replaced by representational external forces where that "part" connects would connect with the other member in the FBD. All loads are represented as force systems. The image to the right is a link to a movie which illustrates the way in which each of the loads on the structure (in this case the bench) are resolved. It also illustrates how each and every physical load that acts upon the structure must be represented. This means that all of the loads are replaced by vectors. Even the supports are replaced by single vectors. Notice how the person, cans and upper shelf dematerialize and are replaced by vectors. The FBD at the end of the movie is not complete. What is missing? Everything that is needed to solve a force system is included on the FBD. Free body diagrams may not seem necessary in the relatively simple current applications, but as problems become more complex, their usefulness increases. The following is the process for determining the reaction at the wall for a cantilever beam. A FBD is first drawn of the beam. Next, cut the beam free from the wall and replace the wall with the forces that were supporting the beam at the wall before it was cut free. These forces are unknown, but they are the only forces that can keep the beam in equilibrium. They are identical to the internal forces in the beam at that point before it was cut. The internal forces in the beam before it was cut free from its support are also determined when the forces which will keep, or put, the FBD in equilibrium are found. A fixed support will resist translation in all directions and rotation (moment). The FBD must show all of these directions. The principles of equilibrium can always be used to solve a FBD. In the FBD above Sum F y = 2K and Sum F x = 0. The 2K forces (load and vertical reaction force) cause a counter-clockwise couple of 10 K-FT which must be resisted by a moment on the end of the cut section of 10 K-FT acting in a clockwise direction. This is an illustration of three different structural systems which have one 100 pound load and one 150 pound load acting on them at exactly the same point. They are also supported with a roller support at the left and pinned support at the right. Each one could be a structure made of any type of, steel, bamboo, or perhaps paper. This is a Free Body Diagram of these three systems which has been drawn to represent the force system. Note how all of the internal structure has been removed from this representation. The internal arrangement does not matter for the determination of the supporting reactions! AND, if the supporting and loading geometries are the same, the external reactions will alsways remain the same. The Umbrian Street Lamp This is a street lamp that is commonly found in Umbria, Italy. It looks like many lamps found all over the world. The three photos illustrate how the free body diagram for this structure should be conceived. The first step is to dematerialize the lamp. Identify the center of the body and draw this as a straght line. The only identifieable weight is the lamp, so this is drawn as a vector as indicated. The next step is to determine what is required at the other end of the lamp to maintain equilibrium; what is needed to keep the lamp from spinning off into space? These forces (including the moment) are drawn as indicated. What is missing from this illustration? The magnitudes of the moment and force at the left side should be included in a complete free body diagram. The Verona Column There are many situations in which the exact conditions of the end restraints are not able to be determined in the first glance. The materiality and relative stiffness of the elements which are being supported/connected provide clues as to the actual behavior. This is a thin brick column supporting a wooden canopy at the old castle in Verona, Italy. How is this element connected to the wall below? Most likely one would model this behavior as a simple connection. The masonry would have a very difficult time transferring moments since it cannot develop the required tensile half of the couple. The mortar would also most likely yield if a lateral load of significant force were to be applied. However, one could argue that the column can, and certainly does, resist a small amount of lateral load. And, due to the force of gravity pulling each brick down there could be the possibility for the base to begin to resist a moderate moment as long as the tensile force does not exceed the compressive force due to the self-weight of the structure. So, where does this leave the FBD? In the hands of the designer to make a choice on the type of model that he/she desires.... What is the correct model? It depends. The Harbor Crane When confronted with what appears to be a complex prolblem, the first thing to do is to SIMPLIFY!!! Determine the identifiable pieces. Look for significant changes in the structural morphology. Turn the image upside down if need be in order to attempt to dematerialze the problem. In this case, the crane must be divided into at least two recognizable pieces. It has a trussed upper structure (A) and a rigid frame lower structure (B). We can split the structures into these two parts because we can also recognize that the upper part must be able to rotate while the lower part remains "stable" or at the very least remains in place. Two significant weights, or forces, can be identified acting on part A; the weight of the hoisted load and the large concrete block counter-balance. Notice the relative magnitudes of the force vectors. If the actual magnitude of forces are unknown, this is one way in which these values can be represented. Note also that some parts of the actual built form of the crane have been neglected in the upper part. There is a series of machines which occupy the platform above the circular swivel track. These are not really of concern in this anaysis unless they are permanent AND of considerable weight. If they are NOT considered, then their location at the center of the whole crane adds a bit of stability to the overall system. Thus, smaller items which might or might not be present are usually neglected. Part B consists of a heavy, solid plate steel rigid frame. It seems to have feet at the bottom of each "leg" that provide the "footing. " The free body diagram is drawn passing through the center of gravity of the section. There are times when the location of the center of gravity is actualy unknown. When this is the case, then it is necessary to make a "best guess" as to its location. Once this is completed, it can be tested as to its "correctness" by the logic of the resulting diagram. There are times when the Free body diagram does not seem to represent anything close to the built form. Note that the "action" on this, the lower frame, consists of both a Force and a Moment. What created these two seperate forces? Why is there both a moment and a vertical load? Why not only a vertical load? or only a moment? In order to analyze this part of the frame we must consider ALL of the actions which come "from above. " This is essentially a moment which has been generated by the tendency of the crane to tip. BUT, the vertical load of the bit being moved MUST also at some point get to the ground. It does so through the frame. Try analyzing the frame with assumed values. What influence does this have on the total capacity of the crane? How might this crane fail? What element might fail first? Video transcript - [Instructor] In this video, we're gonna discuss different types of forces, but we're gonna do it in the context of free body diagrams. So let's say I have a table here, and I have a block that is sitting stationary on that table. What are all of the forces that are going to act on this blocK? Well, to do that, to think about that, I can draw a free body diagram where I am only going to draw the block. Remember, in free body diagrams, you only care about the forces acting on one of the the objects in your system. So, if we're looking at only the block, what's going on? We're going to assume that the block is on earth, we're assuming that it's stationary. Well, if it's on earth, the block has some weight. You have the force of gravity acting on the block. And so let me draw that in my free body diagram. So you're gonna have a downward force, and it's magnitude is gonna be F sub g. We could also call that or w. And even though this block had contact with a table which maybe has contact with the earth, weight, or the force of gravity is a long-range force. Even if this block was in orbit, even if it wasn't in orbit, it would still have gravitational interactions with the earth. The earth would still be pulling on it. But going back to this free body diagram, if this was the only force acting on the block, the block would accelerate downwards. But we're assuming that it's stationary. So there must be another force that is netting out against the force of gravity. Now, what would that be? Well, that would be the force of the table pushing on the block. And this force of pushing in a direction that is perpendicular to the surface of an object, that's known as normal force. And its magnitude you could denote as capital F sub N. Let's do another example, but this time, instead of having the block on a table, let's say it is hanging from a string which is attached to the ceiling. But once again, everything is stationary. Draw a free body diagram for that. Well, once again, I am only concerned with the block. It's still on earth, we're assuming. So you're going to have the force of gravity acting downwards on the block. But what's keeping it from accelerating downwards? Well, you might say, well, you got the string that's holding it up, that is pulling on it. And that pulling force is known as tension. So what you would have here is an upward force that nets out against the force of gravity. And sometimes its magnitude is denoted by capital T or it might be a F sub T. Now, let's make things a little bit interesting. Let's try to kind of combine these things, and we'll actually introduce a new force. So let's say that we, this is the ground right over here. I have a block on the ground. And I have a situation where I am pulling on this block using a rope with a force of magnitude, let's just call this the force of tension. I am pulling on that block. But the block is not moving. What would be the free body diagram for this block? Well, I'll do the same thing again. I will draw the block. Now, in the vertical direction, you have the same thing that you saw in that first scenario. You're going to have the force of gravity or the weight of the block pulling downward on the block. And that's going to be counteracted by the normal force of the ground on the block. The ground is holding up the block is one way to think about it, keeping it from accelerating downwards. So the normal force is acting upwards. But what about the horizontal direction? I already said that I'm pulling to the right with a force of magnitude F sub T. So let me do that on my free body diagram. So this would be F sub T. But I said it's stationary. So there must be something that is counteracting that, that is netting against that, going in that direction. What force would that be? Well, that would be the force of friction. We've all experienced trying to pull on something, trying to drag something across the ground and it doesn't move, and that's because there's friction between the object and the ground. And friction, fundamentally, it could be because the surfaces of the two objects are rough and you kind of have to grind them pass each other. Or sometimes it can even be due to molecular interactions where they're kind of sticky, where the objects are attracted to each other and you gotta pull passed that. And so in this situation, you have the force of friction counteracting this pulling force, the force of tension, the force of friction. And the force of friction is really interesting, because it always goes against the direction of sliding, it always goes against motion. Now, with all of these examples out of the way, let's try to do a more complex scenario. Let's say that I have a shelf, and it has a weight of 10 newtons. Sitting on that shelf I have an object that has a weight of five newtons. And let's say I have two wires and everything is symmetric, but this weight is right on the middle, and these wires are at both of the ends of the shelf, and this is wire one and this is wire two and they are attached to the ceiling. And for the sake of simplicity, we're gonna assume that the wires have no weight. In actuality they would, but for the sake of this argument, let's assume that they are weightless. What would be a free body diagram for this five newton block that sits on the shelf? Well, that one is actually pretty straightforward, and it's analogous to this first scenario that we saw. You have your block, you have the force of gravity pulling down with a force of magnitude, five newtons, and that's gonna be counteracted by a normal force of the same magnitude but going upwards. So make sure I have enough space. So that's gonna be counteracted with the normal force which is going to be equal to five newtons upwards. And to be clear, this five newtons, this is equal to the weight, the magnitude of the weight of the object. So that was pretty straightforward, the free body diagram for just the block. And it's really important to see that, because notice, in the free body diagram, all you see is the block. But now let's draw the free body diagram for the shelf. So if I have a shelf right over here. Pause this video and try to do that. Well, we know its weight, it's 10 newtons. So we can do that first. So, it has a weight of 10 newtons, so the force, the magnitude of the force of gravity downwards is 10 newtons. Is that the only downward force? Well no, you have this object that's sitting on it, and gravity is pulling down on that object with a force of five newtons, and that causes that object to push on our shelf. So that pushing force is actually a normal force. It's due to the gravity on that five newton object, but the end result of the five newton object is pushing down on our shelf. So what you have is another force that is pushing down. And it is going to be a five newton force. And really, we should view that as a normal force. It's a contact force, it's a pushing force of the five newton object on the 10 newton shelf. So this is going to have a magnitude of five newtons. Assuming that it's completely stationary, there must be some counteracting forces here. Where is that gonna come from? Well, that's gonna come from the pulling forces of these wires. So you're going to have the tension from rope one, we could call that T sub one, and you're gonna have the tension from wire or rope two, T sub two. And because this thing is stationary, T sub one plus T sub two should be equal to 10 newtons plus five newtons. So I'll leave you there. We've done a nice survey of various forces you might see in a first year physics class. And we've been able to think about them in the context of free body diagrams.

From a recent episode, Rachel turned thirty years old, yet it was my impression that these people had turned thirty a few years ago. It almost appears as though NBC may be trying to turn back the clock to keep the show's younger audience interested, when in fact the majority of the actors are in their mid- to later-thirties.
I will continue watching the show because I still find it to be quite funny, but I do not like it when these "higher powers" begin to re-write the show and change the "facts" just to keep their ratings up.
